February just flew by and we've been establishing some great connections around Europe, namely in Spain where the Champions League UEFA final will take place next May.

We are also moving fast in Scotland and Ireland and Keith has been updating our blog with the latest news. So watch this space for further developments.

Spain without Barriers:

The 2010 UEFA Champions League Final in Madrid is fast approaching and that is why we recently met with UEFA and Real Madrid at their Stadium, Santiago de Bernabéu to discuss extra disabled supporter accommodation and services in time for the big match. [+]

 

News from Scotland:

Keith Ferguson - CAFE's new development officer for the UK and Eire has been working on gathering information and meeting as many disabled fans as possible in Scotland, Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland. First task is Scotland and he wants to hear from any disabled fans to find out what it’s like for you to attend home and away games. Drop him a line on keith@cafefootball.eu. [+]

 

Open meeting with Dundee United:

All disabled supporters and carers are invited to join the second meeting of the DSA of Dundee United FC to be held on Sunday the 7th March at 6pm, directly after the home match against Hearts (which kicks off at 3.30pm). Improved Facilities for Rangers' Fans:

Glasgow Evening Times recently published an article providing goods news about the facilities for disabled supporters at Ibrox stadium. The club has added new seating in the Broomloan Stand at Ibrox for wheelchair users as part of the club’s long-term strategy to improve access for both home and away supporters. European Visionary:

For German-born Adolf Ratzka, who was paralyzed by polio as a teenager and is wheelchair-bound, the disabled people of the world are united in a battle for the right to general accessibility, independent life-styles and an end to treatment as second-class citizens. [+]

 

NADS Level Playing Field - 13 to 18 March:

The NADS Level Playing Field Campaign for 2010 is focusing on ambulant disabled supporters. The two week period should give each club the opportunity to have a home game in which they can showcase the work they are doing. If you are planning on doing something or just want to know more about this campaign, have a look at the NADS website.

 

Fans' Action 2010 in Poland & Ukraine:

FSE launched the Fans’ Action 2010 in Poland and Ukraine. FSE financially supports fans’ initiatives and projects promoting a positive football supporters' culture, including values such as international goodwill and fair play in preparation to EURO2012. [+]

 

 

Application deadline extended:

We have extended the deadline for applications to the Western European Development Officer. You can now apply until the 12th March 2010. So if you think you have the right profile, just send us a cover letter and your CV. [+]

 

FSE seeks Web Designer:

The FSE Fans’ Embassy division is going to launch a multilingual Fans’ Embassy website with an online Fan Guide in preparation for EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. They are looking for a highly professional web designer who not only designs the website but also does the technical maintenance until Euro2012. You should be a proficient user in English, creative, open-minded, a team player… and ideally also passionate about football and grassroots fan culture, of course. [+]
