Saturday 22nd May 2010 saw the successful birth of Dundee F.C. Disabled Supporters Club and the start of hunt for a Chairman! I added watch this space for photographs of everybody involved and more news.
June 26th I was asked to join their first general meeting. Bill Lonie has taken on the role of chairman and four new committee members have cone forward Gillian Suttie, Maureen Sammarruco, Linda Rose & Brian Ferme. One of the great things about this new club is the involvement of partially sighted (and blind) supporters as well as wheelchair users and ambulant disabled fans'. Also good to see the ladies in the majority by 5 to 3!
We had a long discussion on the way forward and I am confident this club will be a success. Credit must be given to Dundee F.C. and Dee4life who each generously donated a £100 towards the running costs along with a local businessman who gifted £50.00. Next step is the first club meeting at the stadium on 21st July .
The photograph clearly shows they aim to be at the top! From left to right starting at the back we have Brian Ferme, Linda Rose, Alison Adam (Treasurer) , Gillian Suttie, Keith Ferguson (CAFE) , Maureen Sammarrco, At the front Bill Lonie (Chairman) Graeme Adam (Vice Chairman) and Cheryl Adam (Secretary)
