Ukraine - without barriers

Blog - 7 July 2010

CAFE will contribute to the project "Ukraine - without barriers" initiated by the National Assembly of Disabled People in Ukraine.

przewodnik_wbb.jpgThe idea of creating a resource that will provide disabled people with information on accessible sites and public places has been in our minds for some time already. During our visit to Poland in May, we met our colleagues from Integracja, a major national disability NGO. Among other questions that we discussed was the project “Accessible Warsaw” (you can find the link to the pdf brochure bellow) that could be used as a basis for a more widespread project covering all EURO 2012 host cities both in the Ukraine and Poland.

When I came back to the Ukraine, I met with representatives from the National Assembly of Disabled People in the Ukraine and they told me about their project ”Ukraine - without barriers”. We’ll try now to make it a joint project together with Poland. It will provide considerable support to disabled supporters who will be coming to the EURO 2012 tournament.
